The tool I will discuss today is the "affiliate" link. The "affiliate" link is an important tool to help you, because it provides a visual cue to your own website visitors, and to people who see your link in an email, comment or blog.
When anyone clicks on an affiliate link you have provided to them, they are directed to the C2H site. But C2H site tracks those clicks, and each one is counted as a vote for you.
You can include affiliate links on your website, your emails, in blogs or comments that you make anywhere on the web.
To use an affiliate link:
- go to the affiliate page;
- select a graphics link that you can use - there are several sizes and designs and there will be more available over time;
- copy the code that appears below the link you select;
- note that the larger graphics give more points. This is to recognize that it is more intrusive on your website;
- paste the code into your web page where you want the link to appear;
That's it. Now people who visit your web page will see the link, and when they click on it, your affiliate points will be raised! They have voted for you.
Tip: place text next to the link explaining that a click is a vote for you in the C2H competition. That will encourage people who want to support you to do so. It is also a lot more convenient for them, as they do not have to locate you on the C2H website to give you a vote.
